Choosing where your aerial goes

The right position depends on the direction of your nearest transmitter, the height needed to clear trees and buildings, and how the property is built. A loft aerial can work well where signal is strong and keeps the outside of the house clear. Where signal is weaker, a wall or chimney mount usually gives better, more stable reception. For awkward roofs and taller buildings we use specialist mounts.

We check signal levels on site so the aerial is pointed and set up properly, rather than relying on guesswork.

Common aerial problems we fix

Picture break-up, missing channels and a signal that comes and goes are the most common reasons people call us. Causes include an aerial knocked out of alignment by wind, corroded connectors, water in old cable, failed amplifiers or splitters, and an aerial that was never suited to the location in the first place.
