Audio-visual and home cinema

Solarsat installs audio-visual systems and home cinemas in Lakenheath, just a few miles from our Mildenhall base.

RAF Lakenheath is home to a large US Air Force presence, and many American families live in and around the village. We can design AV systems that bring together UK TV, streaming and AFN satellite, so you can enjoy US and UK programming in the same room, with simple control for the whole household.

Whether you rent or own, we can mount TVs, set up surround sound and add multi-room music. In a rented home, ask your landlord before any drilling or cable work; we can suggest options that keep changes to a minimum.

We can also install outdoor speakers or a screen for the garden, and extra TV points so different rooms can watch different things. If you are only in the area for a posting, we can recommend options that are simple to change later. Every installation finishes with a demonstration, so everyone in the house knows how to use the system.

CCTV and alarms

Solarsat installs CCTV and intruder alarms for homes and businesses in Lakenheath.

For homes in Lakenheath, a smart alarm and a few well-placed cameras give peace of mind, especially if you travel or are away for periods of time. With smartphone control you can check live footage, receive intrusion alerts and arm or disarm the alarm from wherever you are, and optional 24/7 monitoring means alerts are responded to when you cannot.

For rural properties and farms around Lakenheath, including those out towards the Fens, our IP CCTV scales to cover yards, gates and outbuildings, and wireless bridges link buildings that are too far apart to cable.

Many households simply want security that is reliable and easy to use day to day. We show you how to use the app, set up the notifications you want and explain what each alert means, and technical support is available if you have questions later. For local businesses, we cover entrances, stock areas and vehicles.

Wi-Fi and networking

Solarsat designs and installs Wi-Fi and networks for homes and businesses in Lakenheath.

Reliable Wi-Fi matters when you are streaming, gaming, working from home or video calling family overseas. If the signal is weak upstairs or at the back of the house, we design a proper system of access points, wired back to the router where possible, and can add wired sockets for TVs, consoles and home offices.

Outside the village, properties nearer the Fens can suffer from slow broadband lines. Our rural broadband service offers 4G, 5G and Starlink, and our point-to-point links and outdoor access points spread the connection to outbuildings and gardens.

If you have a garden office, workshop or garage you want to use for work or gaming, we can extend the network to it with a weatherproof access point or a wireless bridge, giving it the same dependable connection as the house. For local businesses, we also install wired network points, data cabinets and commercial Wi-Fi.
