How GPS tracking works

A GPS tracker uses satellite positioning to work out where the vehicle is, then sends that location over a mobile data connection so you can view it on a phone, tablet or computer. Trackers are usually wired to the vehicle's power supply and fitted out of sight.

What you see and how you are alerted depends on the system and how it is set up. That is why we configure each installation around what you actually want to know, rather than leaving you to work it out.

Things to think about before you choose

Consider how many vehicles you need to track, who needs access to the information, and whether you mainly want live location, journey history or security alerts. For business vehicles, it is good practice to tell drivers that tracking is fitted and how the information will be used.
