Can you fit in-ceiling speakers in an older Ely home?

Often, yes. In-ceiling speakers are a discreet option in many period homes. We check the ceiling construction first and plan the cable routes before any work starts.

Do you travel to Ely for smaller jobs like TV mounting?

Yes. We handle everything from single visits for TV wall mounting to full AV projects, and Ely is within our 20-mile service area.

Can you secure farm buildings on the Fens near Ely?

Yes. We install CCTV on agricultural properties of all sizes, using wireless bridges to connect buildings that are a long way apart.

Can CCTV be discreet on a period property?

Yes. We choose camera positions and cable routes that give good coverage while keeping the equipment as unobtrusive as possible.

Can you improve broadband on a fenland property near Ely?

Often, yes. We check whether 4G, 5G or Starlink is the best option for your location and then install it with Wi-Fi coverage throughout.

Can you add network sockets in an older house?

Yes. We plan cable routes carefully in older properties to keep disruption and visible cabling to a minimum.

Audio-visual and home cinema

Solarsat installs audio-visual systems and home cinemas in Ely, from TV wall mounting and media walls to multi-room music and commercial AV.

Ely is a cathedral city with many period homes in its historic centre and around the riverside, as well as newer developments on the edge of the city. In older buildings we take care over cable routes and fixings and can suggest discreet options such as in-ceiling speakers. If your property is listed, check what consent may be needed before work that alters the building.

For businesses, shops and venues in Ely, we install presentation screens, video conferencing, meeting room AV and PA systems. At home, multi-room music, garden speakers and dedicated cinema rooms are designed, supplied and fitted by our team, with a demonstration so you know how to use everything.

Ely's riverside and city-centre homes often have rooms with features you will not want to cover. A projector and screen that is hidden when not in use, slimline wall mounts and discreet speakers can all help keep the character of a room while still giving you a great picture and sound.

CCTV and alarms

Solarsat installs CCTV and intruder alarms in Ely for homes, businesses and fenland farms.

Farms and rural properties on the Fens around Ely are often open, with long approaches and buildings spread across a wide area. Our IP CCTV scales to large agricultural sites, and intrusion detection sends real-time alerts to your phone. Where outbuildings are far from the house, point-to-point wireless bridges carry the camera feeds without trenching.

In the city, we install cameras and smart alarms for homes, shops and offices. On period properties we plan discreet camera positions and cable routes, and every system is set up so you can view, arm and check it from your phone.

We also install GPS tracking for vehicles, which can be a sensible addition for farms and rural businesses with vehicles spread across a site. Tracking, cameras and an alarm can all be planned together, so your buildings and your vehicles are covered by one local team.

Wi-Fi and networking

Solarsat designs and installs Wi-Fi and networks for homes and businesses in Ely and the surrounding Fens.

Older homes in Ely's historic centre often have thick walls that block Wi-Fi between rooms, while larger houses and extensions can leave the far end of the property with a weak signal. We design a system of access points to cover the whole property, with wired network sockets where devices need a stable connection.

Out on the Fens, some properties are a long way from the nearest exchange or mast, so the broadband connection itself may be the problem. Our rural broadband service uses 4G, 5G and Starlink, and point-to-point links connect barns, workshops and offices to the same network.

For businesses in Ely, from shops to offices, we install commercial Wi-Fi, network sockets and data cabinets, and we can upgrade and take over an existing network. Ongoing support options include one-off visits and cloud-based monitoring with remote troubleshooting, so small problems can often be looked at without anyone needing to visit.
